Volunteers are NEEDED to do lookups in any format reference source related to Cook County. If you own or have access to any Cook County genealogy reference sources, please contact one of the Cook County ILGenWeb Coordinators to be listed on this page. NOTE: Lookup Sources, along with copyright dates MUST be included in your LOOKUP OFFER email.

USGenWeb policy prohibits lookup volunteers from infringing on copyright, so please do not ask for large quantities of information, information on multiple people, or Xerox copies of pages from the resources.

Some of the lookup researchers listed on this page are "VOLUNTEERS" - which means they offer their services at NO charge (not even for copies!!!).
Some of the lookup researchers listed on this page are "EXPENSE ONLY RESEARCHERS" - which means they offer their services and charge VERY minimal fees for reimbursement of their expenses only. If you find that ANY of these researchers are charging for "time", please let me know so that I can remove them from this list.

These LOOKUP RESEARCHER and VOLUNTEER lists are intended as an aid for those who cannot hire a professional genealogist... they will not be used as a free advertising media for personal profit!

"A History of the Norwegians of Illinois" compiled /edited by A.E. Strand, published by John Anderson Publishing, Chicago 1905. It contains hundreds of biographies of prominent Norwegians, and those of Norwegian ancestry living in Illinois in the early 1900's. Most of those included lived in Cook County. It also includes a section specifically on the Norwegians in Chicago -- and on many churches in Chicago. Email me with the surname, and given name. If found, you will receive results via e-mail. "Chicago Lying-In Hospital and Dispensary Alumni Association (1895 SOUVENIR 1931)" This reference contains a brief HISTORY of the Chicago Lying-In Hospital, various bios and pictures of Doctors and Nurses, and various lists of Alumni.
